FRESHWATER SCIENTIST

Dr. Dimitrios Rados

Dimitrios is a Freshwater Scientist with expertise in freshwater macroinvertebrate ecology and is based in our office in Palmerston North. He holds PhD in Freshwater Ecology from Massey University and an MSc in Ecology and Population Genetics.

Dimitrios is a Higher Education Associate Fellow and has tutored courses on freshwater ecology and applied river management at Massey University. As a Freshwater Scientist with Traverse, Dimitrios carries out fish, macroinvertebrate and periphyton monitoring, data analysis, and preparation of water quality and ecological reports for re-consenting and compliance monitoring of potable water treatment plants, domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants, and stormwater discharges. He also has experience in investigations regarding microbial load in stormwater-receiving streams and in establishing freshwater ecosystems’ restoration monitoring regime.
